May 12th . . . Not an Ordinary Day

"Why is any day better than another, when all the daylight in the year is from the sun?      By the Lord's decision they were distinguished, and he appointed the different seasons and feasts;  some of them he exalted and hallowed, and some of them he made ordinary days."    ~ Ecclesiasticus 33: 7-9

In the lives of Ani & Ian May 12th will always be a sacramental celebration of the union between this beautiful couple.  The twelfth of May was the beginning of a covenant between families . . . a bond, a celebration of love.

I was privileged to be the photographer to capture this union.  Ani is the virtue grace in motion.  Ian is devotion and it can be seen on his countenance. 

As the Nineteenth-Century Shaker Hymn  reminds us . . . 

'Tis a gift to be simple,

'Tis a gift to be free,

'Tis a gift to come down

Where we ought to be

And when we find ourselves

In the place that's right

'Twill be in the valley

Of love and delight.
