I had the opportunity to work along side of Richard Day and Brad Glorioso, better known as "Bones".
Both work with USGS and were doing research or "field work" this past Thursday in the Atchafalaya basin.
Those of you who know me, know this is an area I dream of capturing and this particular day we were out collecting data to see how the basin is maintaining post hurricane season. The water levels surveyed were extremely low due to the dry season up north. The study included the recorded sounds of 13 species of frogs along with other data obtained for this purpose. It's all part of "keeping" our wetlands so that future generations can enjoy the beauty of the Atchafalaya basin and other tributaries that make up Louisiana's paradise.
